The only real wines which can be legally allowed to be named “Champagne” should be bottled in one hundred miles in the Champagne area in France. The name is lawfully protected by European regulation and an 1891 treaty that needs real champagne being generated from the Champagne area and made out of the Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, or Chardonnay g
